We are pet lover's and take our extended pet family with us every time we go to our rental Cabin in North Webster, IN. "Cassie" is our adopted calico cat that I adopted almost a year ago from a shelter in Russville IN. after I lost my cat" Tate" of 12 years who was also adopted from a shelter. Tate was are not so fond of car travel (yet loved pulling up to fast food windows to greet the order taker), nor is Cassie but once they entered the cabin they seemed to be in cat heaven Cats love the nature that abounds. They perch themselves near a window in the cabin and get lost in the wonder of the sun, the birds, the gray squirrels that romp up the trees, the chipmunks that move so quickly to and fro, the birds that chirp and fly by and listen intently to the sounds of the crickets.
Being inside cat's make it hard for them as they stare outside the screen door to the activities going on by (the human beings called mom & dad) with friends and family and hear the laugher, or smell the fish/food frying on the grill. Wanting to go outside and engage in all the festivities. If they only knew the fish to be had in that lake. Thank goodness they don't! I don't think any cat likes to swim but are sure facinated with water.
Our Maltese Dog" Rivera".. is just great in going bye -bye to the lake and once she see's our bag's packed, she is climbing in her carrier rushing us to leave NOW. She sleeps most the way there.. but once there just loves the feel of a cabin. She get's to meet all the 2nd home neighborhood pet's and joins Cassie in exploring all the rooms.. sniffing who has been here since the last visit. Rivera has the run of our personal home and the cabin and hogs beds everywhere she goes. Both her and Cassie find a space on our double cabin bed to sleep with us Cassie is a bit more adventurous and wanders in and out throughout the night as there is just to much wonderment here at the log cabin for her to stay in one room too long.
They both love snuggling with me in the recliner by the fireplace and enjoy the warmth this special place cabin brings to a sense of well being.
Both Cat and Dog rate this cabin as 10 paws up for a getaway:)
